New STL/Student Missions Director Appointed:

Chet Caudill

February 20, 2009 - Assemblies of God national youth ministries announces the appointment of Chet Caudill, District Youth (DYD) and Christian Education Director of the Appalachian District as the new director of Speed the Light/Student Missions.
As Student Missions director Caudill will provide oversight and administration to Speed the Light, the youth-initiated ministry that provides transportation and communications equipment to missionaries across the nation and in over 194 countries around the world. This leadership involves an extensive speaking schedule, which includes churches, conventions, camps and leadership conferences.

Also, Caudill will oversee Ambassadors in Mission (AIM), the short-term youth missions program of the Assemblies of God.

Caudill, who grew up as a pastor’s kid in Culpeper, Virg., began preaching at age 17. He has 15 years combined experience serving as youth pastor, evangelist and in various capacities in the local church and district.

During his 4-year tenure as DYD, STL giving has grown significantly in the Appalachian District to an average of over $1,200 per church. In 2008, STL experienced a record-giving year in the district. Now, the Appalachian District averages over $80 per student in STL giving, almost four times the national average of $23 per student.

Caudill completed his ministerial studies through Global University and is continuing his education through the distance-learning program at Southwestern Assemblies of University (Waxahachie, Tex.).

Caudill will transition to his new post in the national youth ministries office in May.

Caudill and Susanna have three children: Chez, Cruz and Canta.

From the National AIM Liaison

Jim Wellborn
Hi Students, Leader, Pastors and Parents! It is my honor to serve AIM as a career missionary from Assemblies of God World Missions (AGWM) on assignment to National Youth Ministries. My role is to help coordinate and facilitate your AIM trips as the AGWM AIM Liaison. Missions has taken me to over 60 countries and allowed me to participate in many foreign and stateside AIM trips. All AIM trips are a coordinated effort between students, leaders, missionaries, and host churches. Thousands of students participate in these trips each year... and with Assemblies of God missions in over 250 countries, the opportunities for ministry are endless. Our goal is to see every student be able to go on an AIM trip before they graduate high school. To this end, we are continuing to develop a core AIM Affiliate network which will include other short-term missions ministries that have a like-minded mission. We are also continuing to develop relevant resources and opportunities for all local churches and districts to utilize. Please feel free to contact me anytime at jwellborn@ag.org.
