Full Biography Jay Mooney serves as the National Youth Director for the Assemblies of God. NYM is a resource for student ministries to churches and youth leadership across the nation. In the accomplishment of this task, NYM provides oversight to many areas, including Youth Alive campus ministries, youth missions projects such as Speed the Light and Ambassadors in Mission, Fine Arts Festival and Bible Quiz. The teen magazine On Course, and a variety of training and discipleship materials, are included in the publishing responsibilities of this national office. Jay is an ordained minister, accomplished speaker and motivator, and an author. He helps both students and adults see the message of hope before them. He is especially impassioned about America’s youth. Jay says, “I had a dream in 1996 that drives me today. In the dream, multitudes of underdogs were becoming champions for Jesus Christ. Often our youth are seen as cultural and spiritual underdogs, but Jesus Christ has brought them into this world and His kingdom to lead the revival of a last-days church. It’s in the formative youth years that hope-filled dreams are taught, caught, and sought. Let us love and affirm this generation of youth in the promises and purposes of God.” Jay has been both a youth pastor and senior pastor. He also has extensive administrative leadership experience in the business sector and non-profit organizations. Jay attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Southeastern Assemblies of God University (Lakeland, Florida). Jay and his wife, Laura, have four children, Elizabeth, Elise, Eric and Erin. He lives in Springfield, Missouri. Short and Informal Biography Photographs (click to download high resolution photos)
